“Improving patients’ quality of life is not just one individual story—it is the daily work of every member of the team.”

For more than a decade, All American Hospice has been dedicated to helping patients and families throughout Philadelphia, Bucks County, and Montgomery County receive the support, guidance, and care they need during some of life’s most challenging transitions. Since opening its doors in 2011, the organization has touched the lives of thousands of families across the region and has grown into a substantial interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, caregivers, support staff, and community advocates committed to providing exceptional hospice services centered on comfort, respect, and quality of life.

At the heart of All American Hospice is a simple yet powerful belief: every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and understanding. While medical expertise remains essential, the organization recognizes that patients and families often need much more than clinical care alone. They need reassurance, guidance, advocacy, and a trusted team that will stand beside them throughout the journey. That philosophy originates with Michael Spivak, CEO of All American Hospice. When he founded the organization in 2011, his vision was to create a hospice provider that focused not only on managing symptoms, but also on supporting the emotional, spiritual, and personal needs of patients and their loved ones. Throughout his career in healthcare, he witnessed families struggling to navigate complex decisions while coping with uncertainty and emotional stress. He believed hospice care could and should provide a more comprehensive source of support.

For Spivak, caring for seniors is deeply personal. Coming from a large family, he understands the responsibilities that come with ensuring loved ones receive the care, respect, and attention they deserve. That perspective continues to shape the culture of the organization today. “Working in hospice isn’t just a job—it is a calling that requires empathy, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” says Spivak. Under his leadership, All American Hospice has remained committed to delivering care that respects each patient’s values, beliefs, and wishes. Every care plan is tailored to the individual, recognizing that no two patients or families experience the journey in the same way.

One of the organization’s greatest strengths is its interdisciplinary approach to care. Rather than relying on a single caregiver or service line, All American Hospice brings together a team of specialists who collaborate to support every aspect of a patient’s well-being. The Medical Director provides clinical oversight and guidance while nurses focus on symptom management, pain control, and ongoing patient assessments. Home Health Aides assist with personal care needs that help patients maintain comfort and independence. Social workers help families navigate healthcare systems, insurance matters, available resources, and practical challenges that often arise during difficult circumstances. Chaplains provide spiritual support based on each individual’s beliefs and preferences, while bereavement specialists continue helping families cope with grief and loss long after care has ended. Together, these professionals create a coordinated support system that addresses physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. This team-based model allows patients and families to receive comprehensive support from experienced professionals who work together toward a common goal: enhancing quality of life and creating peace of mind.

Beyond healthcare services, All American Hospice places tremendous value on creating opportunities for connection and support. Counseling services, volunteer involvement, spiritual programs, holiday celebrations, birthday recognitions, and memorial events help create meaningful experiences that bring comfort to patients and families alike. These efforts reflect the organization’s belief that hospice care should address the human experience as much as the medical one. An important extension of this mission is the organization’s dedicated liaison team. Consisting of six experienced professionals, the team serves more than 40 healthcare facilities throughout Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Philadelphia. Their work helps build strong partnerships with hospitals, nursing facilities, physicians, care teams, and community organizations throughout the region.

Serving as trusted resources, hospice liaisons help patients and families better understand available services while ensuring smooth transitions into hospice care. They collaborate closely with healthcare providers to connect individuals with personalized support focused on comfort, guidance, and quality of life.

Facilities consistently choose to work with All American Hospice because of the strong relationships cultivated by the liaison team and the organization’s reputation for responsive, compassionate service. Healthcare professionals recognize the team’s dedication to providing individualized attention while maintaining close communication throughout the care process. The liaison team’s involvement extends far beyond facility partnerships. All American Hospice regularly sponsors Nurses Week celebrations, Nursing Home Week events, holiday programs, symposiums, and health fairs throughout the communities it serves. Team members also participate in facility activities such as lunches, educational events, and recreational programs, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to maintaining meaningful community connections. These relationships have become one of the defining characteristics of All American Hospice. The organization understands that exceptional care begins long before services are needed and continues through ongoing engagement with healthcare providers, patients, families, and local communities.

More than ten years after its founding, All American Hospice continues to grow while remaining true to the principles that shaped its success. The organization is currently expanding its services into Upper Bucks, Chester, and Delaware Counties while continuing to strengthen its presence throughout the communities it already serves.

Several factors distinguish All American Hospice within the hospice care landscape, more than a decade of experience, a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team, strong advocacy services, deep community involvement, personalized care planning, and a dedicated liaison network that maintains relationships with healthcare providers across the region. Together, these strengths allow the organization to deliver a level of support that extends well beyond traditional healthcare services.

Today, Michael Spivak remains focused on the same mission that inspired the organization’s founding. While he understands every aspect of the business—from operational excellence to team development—he considers the company’s greatest achievement to be the culture shared by its employees. Every member of the organization is committed to treating patients and families with respect, compassion, and genuine care. By combining clinical excellence, community engagement, advocacy, and meaningful human connection, the organization continues to demonstrate that hospice care is ultimately about supporting people, honoring their wishes, and improving quality of life every step of the way.
