Joining Hands to Deliver Healthcare Digitalization at Scale

Guidehouse, a global consultancy providing advisory, digital, and managed services to the commercial and public sectors, has officially announced a partnership with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a trusted global authority on healthcare innovation, to advance digital health transformation.

Under the agreed terms, Guidehouse will join the latter’s HIMSS Digital Health Consulting Partner (DHCP) program, and as a result of that, it will be able to use HIMSS digital maturity models for assessing healthcare organizations’ technology capabilities, implement tailored strategies and solutions, and work with organizations to help them reach a more advanced state of digital health adoption.

So far, HIMSS digital maturity models have been used in over 7,000 healthcare facilities across the US’. For the present context, though Guidehouse will use a total of three HIMSS models.

These models include HIMSS Analytics Maturity Assessment Model (AMAM), which brings forth a newly added AI governance and deployment component to effectively support advanced analytics literacy, robust data governance, and transparency in patient data management. The stated model makes it possible for organizations across the board to scale AI-driven insights for population health improvements.

“HIMSS’ maturity models offer a structured roadmap to help organizations bridge the gap between technology and care delivery,” said Reid Oakes, Chief Products Officer at Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. “By working with Guidehouse, we are scaling the impact of these tools to help healthcare organizations achieve their transformation goals, improve outcomes, and enhance system-wide efficiency.”

The next model in line would be HIMSS Community Care Outcomes Maturity Model (C-COMM). This particular model arrives on the bearing a particular focus on non-acute care organizations. In practice, C-COMM is designed to emphasize strategic access of care by advancing health outcomes for specific population segments through proactive interventions and prevention strategies.

Another detail worth a mention regarding the stated model relates to how, built on the principals of value-based care, it can be expected to conceive innovation and support comprehensive digital health transformation across community-based care settings, thus ensuring more efficient, patient-centered delivery.

The third and final model set to be used as a part of Guidehouse and HIMSS partnership is HIMSS Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM). Understood to be the latter’s flagship model, EMRAM basically evaluates the impact of EMR adoption on system performance and patient outcomes. Furthermore, it promotes operational efficiency, patient safety, care quality, and enhanced engagement by driving the optimization of EMR usage across organizations.
